Prior serving as the CEO of Koch Asset Management, Donald L. Koch established the Koch Foundation. Under the guidance of Donald L. Koch, the foundation regularly sponsors distinguished guest speakers to talk to students in high schools and colleges about the historical context of the documents that helped form the United States’ identity.
The Founding Documents is one in a series of talks on this subject. Sponsored by the Koch Foundation and presented by Professors Clark Beim-Esche and Howard Bay, The Founding Documents delves into the contents of the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence. Students receive a better understanding of each document and an appreciation of the roles they played in the creation of the United States. The speakers discuss the core principles and rights included in both documents and how they still relate to our daily lives. The presentation also emphasizes the importance of the preservation and protection of these freedoms.
